Golden Road Brewing should be moving into DTLA’s Grand Central Market… soon? Back on May 27th, Golden Road announced on its Facebook page that it was taking residency at the Market saying, “Our lips have been sealed for so long… it feels good to let you all know — we’re opening up at Grand Central Market in a few months!” Then in early June they posted, “We’re still a couple months away from opening up.” Well, it’s been two months since that post, and it still looks like they have months of work ahead of them.
According to the Grand Central Market website, they will be opening a “tasting bar… that will offer 20 beers on tap, along with pierogies and other snacks.” The Atwater Village based brewery will take over the space that once housed that creepy pharmacy that sold funky herbs and supplements in the southwest corner of the building. Right now, the only sign of Golden Road Brewing is its name on the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control application to sell alcoholic beverages notice posted in the old pharmacy display case.
Golden Road Brewing is not the only new tenant coming to the Market. According to the website the following establishments are “coming soon.”
- The Courage & The Craft – A boutique shop for artisanal spirits, beer, wine and cocktail accoutrements.
- The Gorbals – A vegan ramen and pho shop by Chef Ilan Hall.
- Bruce Kalman – A fresh, hand-made pasta bar and market by Chef Bruce Kalman of Union in Pasadena.
- Bar Moruno – A Spanish-themed restaurant that will specialize in morunos—skewers of pork, lamb, chicken or vegetables, briefly marinated and cooked over a live wood fire.
