The $45 million renovation of the Sheraton Hotel at the Bloc shopping complex is almost complete. The massive makeover project includes updates to the hotel’s lobby, 485 guest rooms, ballrooms and meeting rooms, plus the opening of the new restaurant called District that was announced back in April. According to the hotel’s website, “Take comfort in our new, welcoming guest rooms, completely transformed with sophisticated furnishings, upgraded amenities and the most up-to-date technology.”
The hotel’s first floor lobby now features a new front desk, a modern business center and a bar. We are told that the rear wall will be removed to open the lobby up to the new Bloc shopping complex later this year.
The new restaurant District is now open on the Plaza floor from early morning until midnight. The restaurant serves food grown by local farmers. The restaurant’s website reads, “For us, farm to table means products that are created on a small scale by farmer-artisans who are strangers to compromise, and have, through passion and invention, further dimensionalized the culinary arts. With this worldly palette of the fresh, the natural, and the superior, we create combinations and juxtapositions of flavors that are wonderfully intuitive and modern.”
