DTLA has a handful of parks. Grand Park and Pershing Square get all the attention, but Vista Hermosa Park is by far the best park in Downtown Los Angeles. Let me guess… you’ve never heard of it? Well, you need to check it out. Vista Hermosa Park is a 10.5-acre urban natural park located on First Street just west of the 110 Freeway between Beaudry and Glendale Blvd. The park has a playground, picnic areas, walking trails, green meadows and even a waterfall, but the best feature of the park is the amazing view of the DTLA skyline.
Vista Hermosa Park was developed by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, and they do a great job of maintaining the place. It’s amazingly clean. There is no trash, no stench of urine, no seedy elements at all. It’s the perfect place workout, bring the kids or walk the dog. Pets are allowed in the park on leashes. There is limited parking at the west and south gates, but it close enough you can walk there.
