Do you ever crave cereal for dinner?  Well, now you can have it and call it “dining out” because DTLA has it’s first cereal bar.  Gizmo’s Cereal Bar is now open on 6th Street between Broadway and Spring and they are serving cereal for breakfast, lunch and dinner.   And it’s not just a boring bowl of cereal, they are combining some of your childhood favorites and adding delicious bonus ingredients.

I ordered conservatively and got the “Golden Berry Bowl.”  It’s Golden Grahams with dehydrated strawberries, banana slices and a drizzle of honey with your choice of milk.  My husband was more adventurous and ordered the “Smack Yo’ Mama Bowl” with a mixture of Honey Smacks, Corn Pops, KIX and Honey Nut Cheerios with sliced bananas. At Gizmo’s you can try all the cereals you mom refused to buy like Oreo O’s and Cookie Crisp, plus you get to add toppings like Almond Joy Bits.  They even have strawberry milk.  Check out all the crazy creations on Gizmo’s Instagram page.  Now I know what all you vegan and lactose intolerant people are thinking… yes, they offer up all kinds of milks including almond and soy, even Lactaid.

A regular size bowl of cereal will cost you $5.99 and the large bowl is $7.99.  Sure, you can buy a box of cereal and a gallon of milk at Ralph’s for that, but then you have the same boring cereal for days.  Go to Gizmo’s and enjoy your cereal!
