There are so many great places to eat in DTLA. One of our favorite restaurants is Olive Bistro. What? You have not heard about it? Well, that’s because it’s kinda a secret hidden restaurant. The entrance is at 619 South Olive Street, just south of the Art Deco Oviatt Building. You will see a sign out on the sidewalk and the street number over the door, but you will still think you are entering the wrong place. Just head on in, smile at the security guard, head past the elevators, down the hallway and you will find it. There’s a outside patio area or head upstairs to the indoor dining room.
Olive Bistro is the perfect place for lunch. They serve traditional Italian food at very reasonable prices. We stopped in for lunch a few days ago. As soon as you are seated, they immediately bring a basket of hot garlic rolls to your table. Sorry, there isn’t a photo… we ate them too quickly. The menu has a great selection of salads and sandwiches, but you will want to order one of the many pasta dishes. My husband ordered the Meat Lasagna ($12.95) and I went for the daily special, Fettuccini with Shrimp and Mushrooms ($18.95) which came with a fresh house salad. As always, the food was delicious, and the service fast, efficient and very friendly.
Olive Bistro should not be overlooked. Add it to your DTLA restaurant list. It’s a great place to grab a meal with friends or to host clients for lunch. Either way, you won’t be disappointed.
