D-TOWN BURGER BAR SERVES UP NOSTALGIA IN DTLA

D-Town Burger Bar has been around for years.  It opened on W. 6th Street between Spring and Broadway back in 2009, and for 8 years it has been serving up burgers in DTLA.  It’s a vintage 1950’s style diner that serves up nostalgia… with a side of burgers, fries and milkshakes.  The place looks like something out of the classic TV show Happy Days.  There are kitschy signs and artwork through out the restaurant with shiny red vinyl stools along the curvy bar that over looks the open kitchen.

The food is very reasonably priced.  The #1 combo on the menu is a burger, fries and a drink for $7. You can make it a double burger for just $1 more.  The burger comes with all the expected toppings like ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce and tomato.  It’s a fine burger, exactly what you would make at home if you had all the ingredients and the time.  The French fries are made with the skin still on the potatoes.  We devoured them.

D-Town Burger Bar opens every day at 9am and stays open until 11pm, 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.  The restaurant also offers up a full breakfast menu all day long.  The breakfast combo is 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon toast and coffee for just $7.

Okay, let’s be clear… this is NOT one of those fancy high-end burger bars.  D-Town Burger Bar serves up basic burgers and fries.  They are good, but not best in DTLA, but if you are looking to grab a quick meal at a descent price, check the place out.
