ASTRO DOUGHNUTS SERVES UP SOME UNIQUE CREATIONS LIKE CHERRY PIE AND ROOT BEER FLAVORED DONUTS

Okay, I haven’t tried the fried chicken yet, but I’m already a fan of Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken on 6th Street between Grand and Olive.  The other day we finally stopped in Astros to get a donut (or is it doughnut?  I don’t know.)  As soon as you walk in, there they are… all laid out looking fresh and delicious.  Each one calling your name!  Well, choosing just one is kinda impossible.  Peanut Butter & Jelly, Vanilla Glazed, Maple Bacon or Creme Brulee?  Oh, wait, there are more… Blueberry Lemon Thyme, Root Beer, Birthday Cake or Cherry Pie?

Each donuts costs between $2.50 and $3.50.  After a mini-debate, we decided that the 3 of us would get 4 donuts and split them.  My favorite was the Root Beer (and I really didn;t want to share it).  It’s a cream filled donut that tastes like… yes, root beer. OMG, it was so good.  My friends were gasping over the Peanut Butter & Jelly and the Cherry Pie, but we loved the Vanilla Glazed too.  I don’t think you can make a bad choice.

I can’t wait to go back and order a Friend Chicken Sandwich with Sausage Gravy!  If the fried chicken is half as good as the donuts, watch out.  You need to take a walk over to Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken and check this place out.  Yes, walk!  You will need to burn the calories on the walk home.
