Are you ever torn between getting a hamburger or getting pizza? Well, thanks to the people at Meatzilla, you will never be in that dilemma again. Meatzilla is a funky little walk-up burger joint on Main Street between 6th and 7th Streets. According to the owners, “Meatzilla was created to answer the call of individuals looking for a classic hamburger in DTLA at an affordable price point. With all the new awesome restaurants coming in, sometimes you just need a quick and simple burger to satisfy.”
Meatzilla offers up hand-pressed Angus chuck beef patties topped with fresh ingredients and house made sauces. If you are looking for a classic burger, order the Zilla Burger ($7.50) with Munster cheese, caramalized onion, lettuce, tomato, house pickles and honey mustard. If you’re hungry, try the Beef! Beef! burger ($9.50). It’s a double patty topped with American and Muenster cheeses, Sriracha ketchup, house pickles and onions. No matter what burger you get, order it Meatzza Style and they turn your top bun into a pepperoni pizza. Yep, burger and pizza at the same time. This is genius! Be sure to get side of the Tots ($4). They are perfect, served all crispy and delicious.
Meatzilla also serves up a Yakuza sandwich ($8.50) that Katsu fried chicken, tomato, onion, Applewood bacon, cabbage slaw with a fried egg and Japanese BBQ sauce. The menu also has an awesome sounding burrito and breakfast sandwich, but your first visit you must get a burger Meatzza-style!
