Okay, we all love finding a hidden bar, right? Whether it’s in a back alley, down in a basement, or behind a secret door… we love hidden bars. DTLA already has The Varnish, Birds and Bees and Crane’s Bar to name a few… but there’s a new one to add to the list. It’s called Slipper Clutch and it’s tucked away in the back of Bar Clacson on Broadway. In the back of Bar Clacson there is a doorway marked by a neon sign that touts “High Balls.” Go through that door and you enter into Slipper Clutch. The Slipper Clutch bar features classic cocktails ($10) that are served from a tap like Rum & Coke, Cranberry Vodka and Jake & Ginger.
It’s an intimate dark space lit by neon signs and a few strands of red Christmas lights. There are vintage arcade games like Frogger and Ms. Pac-Man along one wall, and an outdoor patio along the back. It’s a funky little spot that perfect to escape the hustle and bustle of most DTLA bars. It does not open until 8pm, and it’s not open on Mondays. See you at the bar. Cheers!
