DTLA lost one restaurant, but gained another. A few months ago Lobsta Shack restaurant at Cesar Chavez and Grand closed up shop, but the new Belle Belle’s Cue opened up in it’s place. Belle Belle’s Cue specializes in wood fired barbecue. We stopped in this past Sunday… with seconds to spare. You see, the restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11am to 4pm… OR until they are sold out of food. We got there just before they hung the “sold out” sign on the door. I’m so glad we made it because the food was great.
You can buy brisket, spare ribs and pulled pork by the pound, or you can order one of their sandwiches. My husband ordered the last of the brisket for his Chopped Brisket Sandwich ($10). He made it a “meal” by adding two side dishes for an additional 2 bucks. I went for the Pulled Pork Sandwich ($8) and also added two sides for 2 dollars more.
Okay, we loved the food. The meat was perfect and so were the sides. Both the Baked Beans and the Potato Salad contained bits of burnt ends of brisket. The Mac & Cheese was AWESOME. They add homemade pickle slices to your tray. It was all Delicious! If you really want to splurge, you can order a glass of Kool-Aid with your meal. Oh Yeah!
We look forward to going back. The food was great. The prices were very reasonable and the service was friendly. When you decide to visit, if it is later in the afternoon, make sure to you call ahead to be sure they are not sold out. Oh, there’s free parking. The entrance is on the west side of the building.
