Last night we headed over to Elysian Park to check out Snow Day LA. It’s billed as a winter wonderland experience right in the middle of Los Angeles. Snow Day LA is set up not too far from Dodger Stadium in Montecillo De Leo Politi park. You park at the bottom of the hill and then have to walk uphill to the event. Once you get there, you are greeted by giant inflatable snowmen and a “snowman forest” of hundreds of smaller blow-up figures. There are also “snow” stations that are blowing out soap suds that look like snow.
The highlight of Snow Day LA is the snow tubing runs, one designed for smaller kids and one for kids of all ages. After a quick wait in line for a tube, you drag it up the hill and race down one of three “snow” lanes. It’s fast and fun. Your $24 admission includes eight rides. You can buy the VIP pass for $45 that includes a penguin onesie, one drink ticket, access to a VIP lounge and most important, the ability to bypass the tubing line.
Although we had 8 rides, we were done after the second time. It was fun, but there needs to be additional tubing lanes. Snow Day LA is great for families with young children. If you decide to check out, you must buy your tickets in advance. Be sure to look for a promo code online that will save you 15%.
