Cheers! Downtown Los Angeles has a new brewery! Iron Triangle Brewing Company had its official grand opening this past weekend in DTLA’s Arts District. DTLAexplorer was among the 1,000 people who waited in line to check out the 1904 building that has been transformed into a 10,000 square foot brewery. Oh, and while we were there we also tasted a few beers.
Iron Triangle serves three year-round beers (Iron Triangle Ale, Iron Triangle Dark Ale and Iron Triangle IPA) and a variety of specialty brews. A 16 oz. glass goes for $7 bucks. I started the night with their Mulholland’s Stash Barleywine. It’s a rich full-bodied warming beer reminiscent of raisins, figs and caramel flavors with hints of vanilla in the aroma. This is the only beer they serve in 10 oz pours because it has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 10.8. Be careful!
My favorite beer of the night was a specialty beer called Iron Triangle Ale with Tangerine. It was crisp, refreshing and delicious. My friends were all raving about the Iron Triangle Dark Ale with Coffee (but I don’t like coffee).
Iron Triangle already has plans to expand into the 22,000 square foot building next door. The tasting room is open at 5pm Monday through Friday and noon on Saturday and Sunday. If you are looking for a cold craft beer, head to the Arts District and check this place out!
