After years of rumors, months of construction and weeks of waiting… Whole Foods Market is finally opening in Downtown Los Angeles on November 4th at 9am. The 41,000 square-foot store is located on the corner of 8th Street and Grand Avenue, just south of Bottega Louie restaurant.
“This store was designed to provide an eclectic mix of the best ingredients and foods available for shoppers of all diets and lifestyles,” said Patrick Bradley, president of Whole Foods Market’s Southern Pacific Region. “From the large prepared foods section for professionals on the go with self-service pizza and delicious vegan and paleo options, to a new, affordable DTLA option for happy hour or brunch, to our wide range of curated wines, beers and spirits, and even down to offering smaller cuts of meat and fish for singles or families of two—there is something unique for everyone.”
DTLAexplorer got a sneak peek inside the store during a Friends & Family event last night. There’s a massive grocery section and a produce department filled with organic fruits and vegetables. There are huge meat, seafood and bakery departments, plus a large selection of spirits, wines and craft beers. This store also has a juice & smoothie bar, a coffee bar and even a full-service restaurant/bar called The Eight Bar.
Whole Foods is a welcome addition to DTLA. There are 170 parking spaces and a bike lock-up section in the parking structure. I’m so excited to live in a neighborhood with a Whole Foods! Go to the DTLAexplorer Facebook page for a $15 off $50 coupon at Whole Foods good through 11/10/15.
