ALMA RESTAURANT IN DTLA IS CLOSING DOWN

imageAlma restaurant is shutting down.  Their final day of dinner will be served on Saturday, October 24th.  The announcement was posted on the restaurant’s Instagram page this morning.

It reads:

imageAlma started as a pop-up concept by co-owners Ari Taymor and Ashleigh Parsons.  In 2015, the restaurant found a permanent home in DTLA near the corner of Broadway and Olympic.  They offer a seasonal, 9-course tasting menu for $110, with an optional beverage pairing for $55.  Their ingredients are sourced from local growers and farmers.

In 2013, Alma was named “Best New Restaurant in America” by Bon Appetit magazine.  At that time it was tough to even get a reservation at the most talked about restaurant in Los Angeles.  The restaurant has won many other top honors including being a finalist for  the James Beard Rising Star Award in 2015.

If you have not dined at Alma, you still have a few weeks.  I’ve only dined there once, and it was an awesome meal. I’m going to have to make reservations now to eat there one more time before they close down.
