DTLA’S MUSIC CENTER PLAZA GETS TRANSFORMED INTO A GIANT FRIDAY NIGHT DANCE PARTY

danceLooking for something to do on the last two Friday nights of August?  Head to the Music Center Plaza in DTLA and get your dance on.  All summer long, the Music Center has hosted a weekly Friday night dance party.  The Music Center Plaza, the large open space between the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and the Ahmanson Theater, is transformed into a giant dance party.   We checked out the event last Friday night.  It was awesome.  There were hundreds of people just dancing and having a great time.  There are bars set up around the plaza, but you can bring your own alcohol.

Friday, August 21 is the Special Silent Disco Edition of Bring Your Own Dance Moves.  The event is open to all ages.  Show up and plug in your headphones to music by HUSHconcents featuring KCRW DJ Anthony Valadez, DJ Platurn, JT Donaldson and Lefto.  Headphone rental is $5 and there is a limited quantity.

Friday, August 28 is the final installment of Dance Downtown and the theme is Samba.  The night begins with beginner dance lessons and then it’s an open dance floor.
