HUMMUS REPUBLIC IS A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO ANOTHER BORING SALAD

20150603_193114I wanted something healthy, but I just couldn’t eat another boring salad, then I remembered The Hummus Republic on 7th Street between Broadway and Spring Streets.  They serve up what’s described as assembly-line Mediterranean cuisine, where each customer chooses what they want, kind of like Subway, but way better.  For $7.95 you get to choose between a wrap or a bowl.  You then add falafel, chicken, beef or vegan chicken, a choice of hummus and then a ton of other ingredients like rice, garbanzo beans, cheese, corn, beets, spinach, kale, cabbage etc.

I decided on a bowl with chicken, brown rice and cilantro jalapeno hummus.  I asked for a little of everything else, except onions and topped it off with their Republic sauce.  It was really good and it was a lot of food.

You should check out The Hummus Republic.  They are open 11am t0 9pm Monday through Saturday.  The DTLA location is closed on Sundays.  You can order your food for delivery using the EAT24 website.
