TACOS EL GAVILAN TOPS MY LIST FOR BEST TACO STAND IN DTLA

20150522_130517Our quest for the best taco stand in DTLA has led us to Tacos El Gavilan at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Central Avenue.  Okay, let me tell you… this place is going to be tough to beat.  I love Tacos El Gavilan.

I’m a huge fan of their quesadillas with chorizo ($4.99).  Their quesadilla is my absolute favorite.  Oh, but wait, I also love their asada tortas ($5.49).  Please don’t make me pick just one.  My husband always orders the chorizo burrito with rice and beans ($5.49).  For the more adventurous, they also serve lengua, cabeza and buche.

It doesn’t matter when you go, this place is always crowded… and the crowd is always so diverse.  There are cops and construction workers during the day, couples and families during the weekend, and since this place is open 24 hours on Thursday through Saturday, there is a little of everything at night.

What I like about Tacos El Gavilan is that you get a lot of food for your money, and most important… the food is great.  If you have not tried Tacos El Gavilan, what are you waiting for?  If you think there is a better taco stand in the DTLA area, please tell me about it in the comments section below.

Tacos El Gavilan 1900 So. Central Avenue (at Washington Blvd) 213.742.6677.
