7TH STREET GETTING TWO NEW RESTAURANTS SOON: BARREL DOWN BEER HALL AND LITTLE SISTER

20150413_1253297th Street between Grand Avenue and Olive Street is exploding with new restaurants.  B.S. Taqueria just opened on the south side of the street… and now it looks like two new restaurants are getting close to opening on the north side, next to the uber-pricey Q Sushi.

The sign for Barrel Down Beer Hall is up at 525 W. 7th Street, although it is hidden by a tree.  Barrel Down’s website touts “40 taps of American craft beers, a small batch cocktail program and damn good food.”  The interior is described as a “high-ceilinged expanse of light wood and concrete” in the historic Bronson Building.  It will have communal tables, private Pullman booths and intimate cocktail seating.  According to the website, Barrel Down Beer Hall is “opening April 2015.”

Right next door is the old Gaji space at 523 W. 7th Street will be the home of Little Sister, a second location of the popular Manhattan Beach restaurant.  Look for a pan-Asian or neo-Vietnamese inspired menu.  The opening date for Little Sister’s new DTLA location is expected for “late spring.”
