When you think of DTLA street art most of us think about the Arts District, but don’t forget about South Park, the neighborhood that surrounds Staples Center. On a recent DTLA exploration through the alleys off Olympic Boulevard down toward Pico Boulevard I stumbled along several giant street art wall murals.
Thanks to the website SouthPark.la for supplying some information about the murals. The swan mural is called Preciousness of the Hunt by Faith47. The black & white mural of faces is by DourONE. The moving faces mural is by Christina Angelina. SouthParkLA worked in conjunction with the Do Art Foundation and local property owners on these murals… and they tell us there are more on the way.
If you find any awesome wall murals please let me know about them in the comments section below, or take a photo and post it on the DTLAexplorer Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social medial pages.
Great stuff, DTLAexlporer! We love following your downtown adventures. We’ve actually worked on curating 3 of the murals above with the Do Art Foundation and local property owners – with many more to come! Also, in case you’re curious: The swans mural is called Preciousness of the Hunt, and was painted in August 2014 by Faith47; the black and white mural of faces is by DourONE and the colorful, moving face is by Christina Angelina – both were completed earlier this year.
