20150402_150945Today The Bloc, the Macy’s shopping fortress currently undergoing a massive makeover on 7th Street in DTLA, announced via its Twitter account that the new signature restaurant inside the Sheraton Hotel will be called District.  It will be an urban farm-to-table restaurant designed by the McCartan Design Group.  A response from a member of the Sheraton management team posted on tripadvisor.com reveals that the restaurant is set to open on June 1st.

There is a video posted by McCartan Design that shows fly-thru animation of the remodeled hotel.  According to the site, the hotel is being transformed into a Starwood brand flagship hotel with 496 re-modeled guest room and the largest ballroom in the area.

The Bloc isn’t schedule to open until October.  Construction crews are getting ready to start ripping the glass atrium roof off the courtyard area of the shopping center in the next week or two.
