Today it was pushing 100 degrees in Downtown Los Angeles… and that was all the excuse I needed to head back to Cold Rush Shaved Ice in Little Tokyo. This place makes the best gourmet shaved ice in some original flavors like Yuzu & Mint Mojito, Princess Peach and my favorite Salted Caramel (left). This stuff literally melts in your mouth.
The people at Cold Rush claim you won’t get “brain freeze” when eating their shaved ice because they “control our ice to be at its optimum temperature before shaving.”
Cold Rush is located in the outdoor shopping promenade of the Weller Court Mall. Parking in this area can be tough and pricey so if you can, get out and enjoy the city and walk there.
